MLHS student hit in crosswalk

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake High School student was struck while crossing a crosswalk last week. The driver of the suspect vehicle reportedly fled the scene.

About 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday a 16-year-old Moses Lake High School student was reportedly walking across a crosswalk at the South Monroe Street and East Sharon Avenue intersection and was struck by a maroon colored four-door newer-model SUV that was turning onto South Monroe Street, according to police records.

The unidentified driver of the vehicle briefly pulled over to the side of the road. The driver reportedly waited for a short period of time and left the area when other vehicles stopped behind their vehicle. The victim did not require medical attention and the driver of the SUV was not found.
