Too much government is dragging America under

| October 27, 2016 1:00 AM

Nikita Khrushchev said: “You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright. But we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism, until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you fall, like overripe fruit, into our hands.”

It did not happen as quickly as Mr. Khrushchev had hoped, but it is happening. No one ever dreamed that the Berlin Wall would come down. It did. Most people cannot believe that America will fail. If something does not change; it can and it will. We cannot stay on the same course.

Government has gotten far too big. The government funding of almost everything is killing us. There is simply too much bureaucracy. In many areas of life the federal government needs to stay out of our business.

Most federal politicians these days do not represent the will of the people. Most of them make the choices that will put the most money into their own pockets.

With more diligence, somehow we should have demanded better people to represent us. We are like the proverbial frog in a pot. I am generally an optimistic person, but I only know of one hope: prayer. Then maybe something good will happen that none of us expect.
