Jewel Dean Richards June 11, 1934 - October 16, 2016

Jewel Dean Richards, age 82, of Othello, Washington, passed away October 16, 2016 at the Hospice House in Kennewick, Washington. She was born in Blue Springs, Alabama on June 11, 1934. Jewel graduated from J. B. Pennington High School. She was married to Maurice Dean Richards on December 9, 1955 in Sunnyside, Washington and were later sealed together for eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple in Utah. They had two sons, Michael and Terry, and enjoyed 45 years of marriage until Maurice passed away May 12, 2001. Jewel was a lead at McCain Foods when she retired at the age of 65. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and volunteered at Avalon Care Center. She had a passion for gardening flowers and vegetables. Jewel is survived by her loving sons, Michael and wife Penny Richards, of Othello and Terry and wife Diana Richards of Oracle, Arizona, and sisters, Ann Radach and Sue Brisco. Jewel also leave four grandchildren Amanda, Charles, Cody, and Rowdy, and one great-granddaughter Ava, to cherish her loving memory. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 11:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Seventh Avenue in Othello. Bishop Stevens will be officiating.
