Ellensburg man accused of having child pornography on phone
YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A central Washington man released pending trial for trying to solicit sex from a minor is facing new charges after police say they found him in possession of child pornography.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports (that the 39-year-old suspect is expected to make a court appearance Tuesday.
He was arrested Monday after Yakima police say they found child pornography on his phone.
The Ellensburg man had initially been arrested Sept. 30 at a Yakima park, where police say he arranged online to meet with a 14-year-old girl with the intention of having sex with her.
A detective had posed as the teen on an online chat website as part of an undercover investigation.
The suspect was on supervised released under Yakima County’s pretrial release program when he was arrested Monday.
