2 injured in 3-vehicle collision near Othello

OTHELLO — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision near Othello Friday.

About 8:05 a.m. Crisoforo Rojas, 50, of Mesa, Ariz., was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring west on state Route 24, about three miles south of Othello, when he slowed down for a truck that was turning onto Hatton Road. Rojas’ vehicle was reportedly struck in the rear by a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Reynalda Pineda Neponuceno, 20, of Othello. Rojas’ vehicle then struck the rear of a 2003 Honda Accord driven by Leobardo Garcia Antonio, 37, of Othello, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Garcia Antonio’s passengers, Ramona Garcia, 36, of Othello, and Marciano Garcia, 34, of Othello, were injured and transported to Othello Community Hospital for treatment.

Pineda Neponuceno was cited for following too close, according to the patrol.
