OTHELLO – An Othello man was injured when his vehicle collided with another near the intersection of Highways 243 and 26 on Oct. 13.

Roger Martinez, 24, was northbound on 243 in a blue 1997 Toyota Camry. After stopping at the intersection, he attempted to turn right onto eastbound 26, according to the responding Washington State Patrol trooper.

The Camry was struck by a black 2002 Audi A4, eastbound on 26. It was driven by Jose L. Bustos Vargas, 43 of Kennewick.

Martinez was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Bustos Vargas was uninjured. Both vehicles were impounded by Davis Towing of Schawana.

The trooper reported that both drivers were using proper safety restraints and that neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor.

The WSP cited Martinez for failure to yield right of way.
