Time to replace Newhouse with Didier

| October 20, 2016 1:00 AM

Two years ago in our congressional primary Clint Didier defeated all of his challengers easily. In almost any state but ours he would have faced the top Democrat and become our Representative in Congress. Since we have this ridiculous top-two election system, the second-place finisher Dan Newhouse (also a Republican) was the challenger to Mr. Didier. Since Newhouse is a moderate, establishment Republican, he appealed to Democrats and pro-amnesty moderates from both parties and pulled out a narrow victory. Once he got to Congress, he did just what we warned he would do. He joined in with the establishment Boehner Republicans and voted for another bloated trillion-dollar budget that increased our debt. He supported funding for Planned Parenthood and their millions of taxpayer-supported abortions, funding for “sanctuary cities,” funds for more Syrian refugees and continued funding for the failed debacle called Obamacare. Dan Newhouse is not the type of congressman we need. Clint Didier is a true Constitutional conservative. He will stand up to a progressive tax-and-spend president, not just go along to get along and continue spending our country into oblivion. It is time to fix the mistake of 2014 and put Clint Didier in Congress where he belongs.
