Judge Estudillo's position is well earned

| October 13, 2016 1:00 AM

Until just recently, I worked in the Grant County Clerk’s Office. For over 15 years, I served as a deputy clerk for the Superior Court, and one of my responsibilities was to work with our judges in the courtroom. Over a year ago, Judge Estudillo was appointed by Governor Inslee who obviously recognized that experience does matter. Judge Estudillo was obviously very experienced in courtroom procedure and the law when he came to our court. I did not vote for Governor Inslee, and almost never agree with his views on running our state government; however, appointing Judge Estudillo was right in every sense of the word.

I can say without hesitation, Judge Estudillo lives by his words, “Faith, Family, Hard Work, Education and Community” – in his work and in his life. Working with Judge Estudillo was an inspiration to me to work hard each day to reach my goals and to be a good servant for our community. His road to success was not given — it was earned through his own hard work — and we are fortunate that road brought him to Grant County. As others have stated in their letters of support for Judge Estudillo, “he commands respect by giving respect.” I saw this first hand in the courtroom and in the Clerk’s Office. I urge you, the voters of Grant County, to retain Judge Estudillo as our Superior Court Judge.
