Judge David Estudillo is the right choice for Grant County

| October 13, 2016 1:00 AM

Over a year ago, I was honored to attend Judge Estudillo’s swearing-in ceremony when he became our newest Superior Court Judge. The number of people attending the ceremony was impressive.

The courtroom, hallway and adjoining room were packed – a real testament to the respect he both gives and receives from everyone. Since then, I’ve become better acquainted with Judge Estudillo.

I have learned that his legal background, before assuming the bench, was extensive and that he has courtroom experience that well prepared him to be a judge. His knowledge of the constitution and support for individual rights is critical.

I have also found him to be humble, knowledgeable, and fair – the kind of judge most people think we deserve in Grant County.

Both Judge Estudillo and his wife Sandra are deeply committed to their three young children. I happened to see him recently walking down the sidewalk having a good conversation and a fun time with his kids.

A simple act, but it was obvious that he cares deeply for them, and the respect they have for their father is genuine.

Judge Estudillo has also shown that he is committed to the youth of our county. I have heard him speak about education and hard work as the keys to success in life – a message all our children need to hear.

And he speaks from the heart, given his own humble background. His willingness to be involved in community organizations, despite long hours on the bench, shows his commitment to the area in which he lives, works, and raises his own children.

I urge you to join me in voting to retain Judge Estudillo as Grant County Superior Court judge – the right choice for Grant County.
