MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Courthouse computer systems was hit by an outage this week, and as of Wednesday afternoon, county officials and computer support personnel were struggling to get the network back online.

According to a statement released by the Board of Commissioners, “A computer network outage is causing all Grant County government offices and facility work computers (including e-mail) and phone system to be out of service.”

The statement said “there is no workaround” for the crippled phones and email, though as of Wednesday afternoon, the county has re-established limited e-mail and phone service.

The outage did not affect 911 emergency phone service.

Grant County did not respond to requests for comment.

The outage hit the county government’s computer systems sometime early this week, and the county’s web site was down beginning on Monday. In response, the county canceled jury duty on Wednesday and will close the county clerk’s office on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. “to make up for the loss in productivity.” Charles H.
