Registration Deadlines: The last day for mail in and online voter registrations and transfers and voter registration updates for the November 8, 2016 General Election is Monday October 10, 2016. THE CITY OF OTHELLO IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2017 TOURISM PROMOTION PROJECTS IN THE CITY Each year the City receives funds from lodging room tax imposed upon the hotels/motels within the City. These funds can be expended as established by State law (RCW 67.28.1815). To be considered for funding, your organization must meet one of the following criteria: Tourism marketing Marketing and operations of special events and festivals Operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by nonprofit organizations The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) will review each proposed application and the organization will be contacted if their application meets the qualifications. SUMMARY PUBLICATION AN ORDINANCE AMENDING OTHELLO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 12.16 TITLED WATER AND SEWER SERVICE AND RATES In accordance with RCW 35A.12.160, this is a summary of Othello Ordinance No. 1478, passed by the Othello City Council and approved by Mayor Shawn Logan on the 26th day of September, 2016. The full text may be mailed, free of charge, to any person requesting a copy. SUMMARY This ordinance changes the name of sewer permit charges to sewer general facility charges and change sewer connection fees to sewer site facility charge. It also clarifies that all funds collected as water utility general facility charges; site facility charges; fire protection connections fees; and main connection charges shall be placed into a water account for use on water capital projects. And all funds collected as sewer general facility charges; site facility charges; and main connection charges shall be placed into the sewer account for use on sewer capital projects. The ordinance also provides for two types of water and sewer facility development projects: private subdivider or developer installed utilities or publicly funded installed utilities for water and sewer and allows for latecomers connection charges.
