Reward offered in search of suspect
OTHELLO — A reward is available for someone who can assist in identifying suspects in an early Monday morning robbery of several persons in Othello.
According to Othello Police Chief Phil Schenk, officers responded early Monday to the report of an armed robbery in the 200 block of East Juniper Street.
Schenk said the responding officers learned that the 27-year-old victim was approached outside his home by two armed male suspects demanding cash.
The victim cooperated, and the suspects followed him to his home where other family members were forced into the bathroom while the cash was retrieved. The suspects then left the home, Schenk said.
The victim was not sure of the direction in which the suspects departed. Searching officers were not able to locate them.
Both suspects are described as being around 5 feet 7 inches tall with slim builds. One suspect is estimated to be 20-25 years of age and stuttered as he spoke broken Spanish. He was wearing a black jacket and light brown pants.
The other suspect is estimated to be 16 or 17 and was wearing a black hoodie with blue jeans. This suspect did not speak during the robbery.
A reward is available for information regarding the identification of the suspects. Information may be called into the Othello Police Department at 509-488-3314.
