MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake woman was arrested early Wednesday morning for allegedly leaving her young child home alone while she went on a date.

Elena Jacuinde Lozano, 21, of Moses Lake, reportedly left her 4-year-old son at home by himself for three hours early Wednesday morning as she went on a date with her boyfriend. The boy’s father reportedly went to Jacuinde Lozano’s West Broadway Avenue residence about 3:40 a.m. and found the child locked inside the house crying, according to police records.

The man took the child to a friend's house and Jacuinde Lozano was later taken into custody. She was booked into the Grant County Jail for second-degree abandonment of a dependent person. Child Protective Services has been notified of the incident.
