Ernesto Ruben 'Ernie' Luna

Ernesto Ruben “Ernie” Luna was born Oct. 14, 1953 in Las Cruces, N.M. Ernesto moved to Moses Lake, Wash. with his family where he was raised and graduated from Moses Lake High School. He pursued and conquered his childhood dream of studying at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science and studied two years of law.

Ernesto worked for a number of years with the stock exchange. In 2001 he moved to El Paso, Texas to join the startup team of the investment banking division with Bank of America. He returned to Seattle, Wash. where he took on roles as a financial advisor with AG Edwards and Ameriprise.

In 2005 he married the love of his life Maria Garcia Luna. Ernest and Maria returned to his hometown of Moses Lake from Mercer Island, Wash. in July of 2016. He worked for United Health Care’s EAP from home and Global View Capital Advisors with his business partner and friend Roger Edwards, preparing financial profiles for a number of clients. Keeping busy while preparing for retirement, Ernesto “Uncle Ernie” enjoyed playing golf, reading, watching football, spending time with family, and learning something new every day.

While he had no children of his own, all of his nieces and nephews were like his own. He was by far a very admirable man, a man who showed unconditional love for his family and friends. Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Concepcion Lopez; his father Alfonso Luna; his sisters Consuelo Luna and Amalia “Molly” Lopez and nephews Jesse Martinez, Angel Luna and Armando Capetillo. He leaves behind to cherish his beautiful memory his wife Maria G. Luna; his siblings Fernando Luna, Gloria L Lopez, Rosario L Silva, Rudy Luna, Naomi Luna, Elizabeth L Martinez and Ray Lopez along with 16 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and -nephews and 3 great-great-nieces and -nephews. Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N Dale Rd, Moses Lake, Wash. at 1 p.m. Viewing will be open at 12 p.m., Holy Rosary at 12:30 p.m.
