Lynda J. Williams

March 1, 1940 – November 11, 2016

Lynda J. Williams, a resident of Moses Lake for 44 years passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer on Friday morning, Nov. 11, 2016 in Wenatchee, with her family by her side. She served as parish secretary for Immanuel Lutheran Church for nearly 30 years.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18 at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Rd. L NE, Moses Lake followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1020 A Street.

Lynda was born in Grand Rapids, Minn., on March 1, 1940, to Rodney Leroy and Myrtle Jane Weston. Lynda is survived by her husband of 58 years Lee Williams; her son Damon Williams; her daughter Trisha (Peter) Mertens; three grandchildren Amanda (Kenny) Scott, Tia Mertens and Nick Mertens and one beloved great-grandchild Jude Scott. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Sheakley and her brother Brad Weston. In addition, Lynda is survived by countless close and faithful friends and relatives who dearly loved her, as did her family.

Lynda was active in her family, her church family and her community. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, BETA Sorority, PEO, and Soroptimist International. Lynda was an avid quilter, which extended her community involvement and friendships. She loved to play bridge and travel the world. One of Lynda’s greatest devotions was serving the Lord.
