Maria G. (Lupe) Estrada

July 6, 1937 – November 5, 2016

Maria G. (Lupe) Estrada passed away on Nov. 5, 2016, surrounded by family in her final days. She was born in Allende Coahuila, Mexico on July 6, 1937, to Natividad and Elena Segura. She and her family migrated from Eagle Pass, Texas to Ontario, Ore., working seasonally in the sugar beet fields. When she wasn’t hard at work, she was singing live with her sister on the radio station, KCRB, in Ontario. On Jan. 1, 1958, she married Francisco (Kiko) Estrada in Crystal City, Texas and they eventually settled in Moses Lake, Wash. to work and raise their family. She worked at Carnation/Nestle for many years, retiring in 2001. She was an amazing cook and no one ever left her house hungry. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and traveling with her family. Maria was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima church.

She is survived by her nine siblings Irma Quintanilla, Gilberto Segura, Oscar Segura, Maria Fuentes, lgnacio Segura, Ruben Segura, Francisco Segura and Alvaro Segura; her children Consuelo (Doug) Bagdon, Frank (Celeste) Estrada, Rudy (Yvette) Estrada, Leticia Estrada, Veronica (Ed) Gottschalk and Annabelle (Chris) Magnuson; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband, mother and father.

The family wishes to thank all of those closest to her throughout her many years of life, and the nursing staff of Providence Holy Family Hospital during her final days. May she rest in peace and soar with the angels above us all. We love and miss you, Mom.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in the Catholic Church columbarium.
