Parks and Rec offers ice skating, hockey
MOSES LAKE — Early-morning ice skating lessons, a clinic for kids and teens who want to learn about hockey and making table runners are some of the classes sponsored during the week by the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department.
The early-morning ice skating lessons are early – the first class, “Snow Plow Sam,” begins at 5 a.m. every Monday for six weeks. The classes are a half hour in length. Two classes of basic instruction follow, at 5:45 a.m. and 6:10 a.m., with more advanced classes at 6:45 and 7:20 a.m. Skating lessons are for all ages.
Instruction is at the ice skating rink at the Larson Recreation Center, 610 Yakima Ave.
Each session is six weeks, with the first session running through Dec. 12 and the second beginning Jan. 9. Students supply their own ice skates, although skate rentals are available for $5. Cost is $45 per person, per session. Class size is limited.
