Prep roundup: Warden's season ends in crossover game
SPOKANE — Bailey Whitney gave Warden an early lead in its winner-to-state game against Freeman, but the Cougars were eliminated from the postseason 4-1.
The Scotties rallied with four unanswered goals to advance to the Class 1A state tournament.
Whitney scored in the 16th minute, but the lead was short-lived as Freeman forward Brynn Van Orden evened the game in the 18th minute on a penalty kick and helped the Scotties take the lead in the 21st.
Warden entered halftime down 2-1.
Kylie Nelson and Cheyenne Groat scored one goal each for Freeman in the 64th and 70th minute, respectively.

No. 3 Ellensburg 48, Othello 0
ELLENSBURG — Othello fell behind big early and lost to third-ranked Ellensburg 48-0.
The Bulldogs won their fourth straight CWAC league championship.
The Huskies were unable to contain Mason Sherwood. Sherwood totaled four touchdowns and 187 yards in the first half, giving Ellensburg a 34-0 lead at the break.
Sherwood scored the first four touchdowns of the game. Ellensburg capped the first half with a touchdown pass from Bryce Helgeson to Nate Andaya for 32 yards.
Jake Andrews and Trace Townsend added touchdown runs in the second half for the Bulldogs.
Othello will move on to a tiebreaker with Prosser and Selah.
East Valley 49, Ephrata 21
YAKIMA — Ephrata ended its season with a road loss to East Valley 49-21.
