Local efforts needed to repeal bathroom bill

| May 26, 2016 1:40 PM

It’s time to stand up and send a message and rally together to protect our women and children, to keep our public restrooms and school locker rooms safe. You can do this by signing the petition to repeal the dangerous Open Bathroom Bill brought by Gov. Jay Inslee and the Human Rights Commission, who instituted this new law without legislative approval or a vote of the people. What’s the Bathroom Bill? It’s WAC 162-32, which affects public businesses like stores, gyms, and schools and allows any male who claims his gender identity or expression to be female, to enter and use a women’s restroom or public locker room. On May 25, JustWantPrivacy.org stated 318,698 signatures were needed by July 1 to put I-1515 on the ballot in November. You must be a registered voter to sign. This petition is not against transgender people, but about preserving privacy and safety from a law that enables criminal behavior. Will you stand up for your family and help collect signatures? For more information, visit JustWantPrivacy.org or fpiw.org. Call 509-989-2914 for petitions and voter registrations.

Standing for our communities and families,
