Mattawa Middle School honored for math progress

MATTAWA — Mattawa Middle School was one of several South Central Washington public school honored the presentation of the Washington Achievement Awards Union Gap.

Union Gap was selected as the site for this year’s ceremony because it was receiving an award in five of the seven available categories. Union Gap is being honored for Overall Excellence, High Progress, English Language Growth, Math Growth, and English Language Acquisition.

Other regional schools on the 7th annual Washington Achievement Awards list were: Goldendale Primary School (for English Language Arts Growth), East Valley’s Moxee Elementary (for Math Growth) Selah’s Robert Lince Elementary (for Math Growth), Mattawa Elementary (for Math Growth),West Valley’s Apple Valley Elementary (for Math Growth), West Valley’s Cottonwood Elementary (for English Language Acquisition).
