| May 18, 2016 1:16 PM

MOSES LAKE — Parents and students in Moses Lake will have the opportunity to take home some of the top-notch work produced by students at Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center (CB Tech) Thursday at the school’s open house and silent auction.

The open house event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at CB Tech. Students who are potentially interested in enrolling in courses at CB Tech and their parents are invited to tour the building and learn more about program offerings.

During the open house, attendees will also be able to bid on items created by current CB Tech students from the various programs. Christine Armstrong, director of CB Tech, said the auction’s purpose is not to make money, but rather to enhance the open house by providing examples of student work.

“The auction is to promote what students make, learn, (and) do at CB Tech,” Armstrong said. “The purpose is not to make money. We are very excited to show off their skills.”

Examples of student work that will be auctioned off at the silent auction include:

Oil changes with oil and filter included

Star Wars themed cups and other items

Spa package

Male and female haircuts, manicures, and facials

An adult culinary class

Custom video game

Framed photographs

Outdoor ice chest

Cutting board
