Carver Family Funeral Home closes doors

| May 18, 2016 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — After nearly a decade of business in Moses Lake, Carver Family Funeral Home closed its doors in late April and has chosen Pioneer Memorial Services as its successor for existing clients, according to a release from Pioneer Memorial Services.

Susan Freeman, owner of Pioneer, said she is “making every effort for a seamless transition” for clients of Scott and Nicole Carver, owners of Carver Family Funeral Home. The case files for the Carvers’ clients will be retained at Freeman’s location at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, located at 14403 Rd. 2 NE in Moses Lake.

According to the release, Pioneer Memorial Services will honor arrangements that were previously made between Carver Family Funeral Home and its clients.

The Carvers’ decision to close shop after almost 10 years “did not come easily as a major part of serving the community is in relationship building, and through the years (they) have made many friends,” according to the release from Pioneer Memorial Services.

Freeman has been in business since 1997 in Moses Lake and has provided services for hundreds of Columbia Basin residents since then, according to the Pioneer Memorial Services website. For more information, visit www.pioneermemorialgardens.com.

Scott Carver declined to comment.
