WILSON CREEK — The town of Wilson Creek will explode to 100 times its normal population come June with it hosts the fourth annual Little Big Show June 11.

The town of 220 people has proud ties to the agriculture community, as well as the railroad. The tallest building in town is the grain elevator. The first school was opened in 1894, well before the town was incorporated in 1903.

They certainly have past ties to present lives and for one day in June, Wilson Creek erupts with activity, drawing the attention of thousands of car lovers from across Grant County and the area with its annual classic car and motorcycle show.

The Little Big Show will fill Railroad Street from one end to the other. There will be vendors in the park, music in the air and classic cars lined up for all to see. Organizers are preparing to Rock Around the Clock, well at least from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. anyway.

“The last three years there’s been an average of about 200 cars and bikes,” event organizer Nicholas Odorizzi said. “It’s quite event. It fills Wilson Creek from one end to the other with cars and people.”

There will be door prizes, dash plaques, arts and crafts vendors set up in the park, along with a swap meet and music by DJ Darren.

“Most of the bikes will be modern bikes, but the cars will all be vintage,” Odorizzi said. “We plan on a people’s choice this year. The sponsors will have a first-second-third prize for both the cars and bikes. The winners will all be decided by the people. There’ll be a booth where people can vote for their favorite.”

The Wilson Creek Fire Department will show a little hometown hospitality by serving breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10. Sponsorship is growing by the day and includes The Harvest Moon, Hagerty, Ephrata Les Schwab Tire Centers, Wesco, Good Guys, DJ Darren and Inland Cellular.

“I posted a video on the Facebook page that gives people a look at the turnout last year,” Odorizzi said. “People can go to www.thelittlebigshow.com/ where I have a pre-registration link. They can get a jumpstart on early registration if they want to.”

It’s a big day in a small town and car lovers can expect Wilson Creek to roll out the welcome wagon for the event. To register or for more information, log onto www.thelittlebigshow.com/ or contact Odorizzi at nodor@nykoinc.com.
