This is a reminder that Candidate Filing Week begins Monday, May 16, 2016. Candidates filing in person will file at the Grant County Election Department located on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, Room 203 beginning May 16th at 8:00 a.m. and continue through Friday May 20th at 5:00 p.m. The attached list states the positions that are open for filing for the Primary to be held on August 2, 2016. A person filing a Declaration of Candidacy for an office shall, at the time of filing, possess the qualifications specified by law for persons who may be elected to the office. The candidate must be properly registered to vote in the district represented by the office at the time of filing.

Electronic filing opens Monday, May 16th, 9:00 a.m. and closes Friday May 20th at 4:00 p.m. The acceptance of candidate filings submitted by mail will be accepted by mail beginning 10 business days before the opening of filing week, May 2nd. The filings by mail are retained for processing until filing opens for all candidates.

Candidates may submit a signed request to withdraw their Declaration of Candidacy before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23rd. Filing Fees are non-refundable.
