NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Kahlotus City Council at the Kahlotus Civic Center, 140 W. Martin Street, Kahlotus, WA 99335 on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 6:15 p.m.

The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the Kahlotus area.

CDBG General Purpose grant funding may be available to the City of Kahlotus on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development, planning and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

The City of Kahlotus is considering applications for the following proposed projects: 1) Water Distribution System Improvements (Up to $750,000 for construction projects) and 2) Civic Center Rehabilitation Plan (Up to $24,000 for planning-only activities).

Outlines of the proposed projects will be available for review on May 5th at Kahlotus City Hall, 140 W. Martin Street, Kahlotus, WA 99335. Comments may be submitted in writing to the Kahlotus City Council at the above address or mailed to P.O. Box 100, Kahlotus, WA 99335, until 3:00 pm on May 19, 2016.
