MOSES LAKE — A Healthcare Studies Fair for current and future students interested in healthcare professions will be held at Big Bend Community College on May 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ATEC lobby (Building 1800).

The event features healthcare programs at BBCC, plus programs from Wenatchee Valley College, Yakima Valley Community College, and Columbia Basin Job Corps.

BBCC has five healthcare programs: certified nursing assistant, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, medical assistant, and medical billing and support services.

Wenatchee Valley College will provide information on medical laboratory technology. Yakima Valley College will promote its dental hygiene program. Columbia Basin Job Corps will have information on its pharmacy technician program.

BBCC offers prerequisite classes for healthcare programs provided at other colleges. Local students can take those classes at BBCC and transfer to the school offering the healthcare program of their choice.

The fair provides an opportunity for prospective students to meet with representatives of healthcare programs and with people who are working in healthcare fields.

Local health care professionals from each area of study will share information with students about their job duties and day-to-day work environment.
