Kevin Ellestad

August 6, 1962 – March 16, 2016

Kevin Ellestad, 53 passed away in his home in Eagle River, Alaska on March 16, 2016. Kevin was born on Aug. 6, 1962 in Moses Lake, Wash. to Gordon and Marjorie Ellestad. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1980. After high school Kevin went on to work for Payless Drug Stores for many years as a store manager. Kevin eventually went to Alaska and went to work for Prince William Sound Aquaculture from 2000 to 2016. Kevin was a chief maintenance manager for remote salmon hatcheries in Prince William Sound.

Living and working in Alaska were some of the best years of Kevin’s life. Kevin was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Kevin enjoyed many moose and bear hunting trips with friends and family. He was the happiest when fishing in his boat in Prince William Sound, Alaska with friends and family for halibut. Kevin made and cultivated friendships easily and he will be missed dearly by many friends and family.

Kevin is survived by his wife Kristeen Ellestad of Eagle River, Alaska; son Justin Ellestad in California; daughter Hanna Ellestad in Eagle River, Alaska; parents Gordon and Marjorie Ellestad in Moses Lake, Wash. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Linda Moore, nephew Aaron Harmon, niece Mallory Harmon and brother Neil Ellestad.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 1 at 1 p.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church, 2609 W Broadway Ave, Moses Lake, Wash.

A celebration of life will be held in Anchorage, Alaska at a later date for family and friends in Alaska.
