MOSES LAKE — Now is the time to apply for financial aid if you plan to attend Big Bend Community College this fall, according to BBCC publicist Doug Sly.

The BBCC Financial Aid Priority Funding date is April 15 for students who want to attend BBCC this summer or fall.

The 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or WASFA for DREAMer students, a BBCC data sheet, and all other requested documents must be received by the priority funding date to ensure determination of eligibility prior to the tuition due dates for summer and fall quarters.

The FAFSA can be accessed from BBCC’s web site at www.bigbend.edu. Other resources, such as outside scholarships, DREAMer assistance, and required forms are also available on the BBCC website.

Students and/or parents who need help completing their financial aid application can attend free workshops on campus. The workshops are open to all families in the Big Bend Community College service district.

Sly reminds students to bring 2015 tax returns, W-2s and any other income-related information to the workshops. Contact the BBCC Financial Aid Office (793-2034, faidinfo@bigbend.edu) for workshop dates and times. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year.

More than 70 percent of BBCC students receive some type of need-based financial aid. The Financial Aid Office in recent weeks has reported a sharp increase in financial aid application for next year.
