NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD March 29, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA to consider an Ordinance amending Ch. 6.04 of the Grant County Code titled “Fireworks”.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD March 29, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA to consider an Ordinance amending Ch. 6.04 of the Grant County Code titled “Fireworks”. The amendment appoints the Grant County Fire Marshal as the designated officer for unincorporated areas of the county and would allow him/her to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners for a prohibition on the sale and/or discharge of Fireworks due to “Extreme Fire Danger”. The determination will be then made by the Board of County Commissioners.

The penalty proposed for discharge of Fireworks during periods of declared “Extreme Fire Danger” is a misdemeanor and any person violating this ordinance, upon conviction, be fined up to one thousand dollars or be imprisoned for up to ninety days, or both.
