MOSES LAKE — A man reportedly fired a shot after a dog attacked his dog on Thursday.

About 12:35 p.m. a man was reportedly walking his small dog on Cherry Avenue and a boxer crawled under a fence and grabbed his small dog. The boxer reportedly began shaking the man’s dog and he grabbed his gun and fired a shot into the ground, according to police records. A witness confirmed the man’s story. The boxer was out its yard and walking on the sidewalk, according to the witness.

The boxer was not hit by the shot, let the man’s dog go and left the area. Police contacted the owner of the boxer, who is reportedly going to be cited for dog running at large, not having a license and acting vicious.

The man who fired the shot is not expected to be charged with a crime, according to police records.
