More respect for the law means fewer people in jail

| March 10, 2016 12:45 PM

Democrat candidate Bernie Sanders keeps complaining, stating that the police have too many people in jail in America. Well, Bernie, the police don’t have people in jail; people put themselves in jail by breaking and violating the law. No one is above the law, and if you break the law, you put yourself in jail. Let’s stop blaming the police for our responsibility of being law-abiding citizens.

I’m a 44-year-old African-American and I’ve never been to jail, nor do I have a criminal record, because as a kid I was taught to obey the law and be a law-abiding citizen. That kept me out of the jailhouse. So again, let’s stop blaming the police for doing their job, and start teaching people to obey the law and respect the police. Then the jails in America will be less full, and that’s a fact.
