Be still and know that I am God

Mornings early and evenings (just before I go to bed), I spend time in prayer and readings of Scripture and other books. I don’t always do this, but the majority of time I do. I enjoy these times and make a conscious effort to “slow down.” I find true and inspiring the words of Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Sometimes, though, with the cares of daily life, it is not easy to slow down enough to hear the “still, small voice.” God does listen, but I may not always be in tune with him.
More and more, I am coming to recognize the importance of contemplative prayer and am working at it. May you be able to slow down and listen. “Be still and know that I am God.”
