Satan's hand behind violence

| June 23, 2016 1:00 PM

The news has been filled with the Orlando shooting, LGBT rights, and transgender bathrooms. Gun ownership rights are again under discussion by a few in government positions. ISIS, Al-Qaeda and jihad are mentioned nearly every day along with radical Islam. Nearly every day there are reports of gang violence, domestic violence, and all sorts of evil deeds. We need to find a common thread through all of this in order to find the solution to the problem.

As I consider all these different aspects of violence there seems to be only one source for all of these different acts. I have been made aware that ISIS is the manifestation of the spirit of the Antichrist, the spirit of evil. Scriptures teach that Lucifer, more commonly known as Satan, was kicked out of Heaven because of his pride and came to earth and deceived Adam and Eve into believing they could be like God if they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. His spirit along with the demons that followed him are still on this earth, seeking to deceive all, including the elect when we allow it.

God came to earth as a man named Jesus who allowed himself to be hung on a cross to be the sacrifice for all the sins man had done. His death paid for all the violent things we do to each other as well the things we consider as good in order to gain his favor. His death allows us to escape the punishment of eternal separation from God. He rose from the dead and returned to his father to send us the promise of the Holy Spirit. This promise is not something we can earn or just claim. It is given to those who will give up their own will and accept the will of God in their lives. This Holy Spirit comes and cleanses our hearts of sin and then takes up residence. He removes the demons that cause us to commit sin and empowers us to live righteously. The Holy Spirit gives us a wireless connection to the mind of God that we may discern his will and live accordingly. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can overcome the spirit of the Antichrist. If we are to be overcomers we must seek the power of the Holy Spirit.
