Paul Schlener

Paul Schlener, 90, a resident of Moses Lake was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Paul was born on Jan. 29, 1926 in the bitter cold of Conde, S.D. to August and Rena Schlener. He was one of three siblings and in 1936 the family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where August continued on in the leather and harness industry also opening up a creamery and second-hand store.

Paul Schlener gave his life to Christ on June 25, 1945 during World War II and married Jesse MacDonald on August 3, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Packing up their belongings, they drove to California where Paul attended Biola University in preparation for 40 years of missionary service to the vast upper Amazon jungle in Brazil, South America.

Paul is survived by his four children Timothy J. Schlener (Inaye), Leanne K. Pearson (James), Cindi L. Bollback (Larry), Rena M. Schlener; his grandchildren Calu Ostrander (Jason), Timothy J. Schlener, Linaea M. Floden, James K. Pearson, Luke S. Bollback, Paul L. Pearson, Kenny L. Schlener (Bethany), Jessie Anna Bollback and Marcos A. Schlener, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE. Viewing from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Kayser’s Chapel.
