Charlotte Roth, 81, long-time Moses Lake resident, passed away Friday June 17, 2016 at Confluence Hospital in Wenatchee. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1020 S. A St., Moses Lake. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory.

Charlotte was born on Oct. 15, 1934 to Herbert and Vada Hephner in Wichita, Kan. where she was raised and educated.

In October 1950 Charlotte married Dwight Weir and they had two children, Diane and Gary. In 1956 Charlotte and Dwight moved their family from Wichita to Ephrata. They divorced later in 1956 and Charlotte began working as a dental assistant for Dr. Jacobson.

On February 5th 1960 Charlotte married Al Roth Jr. and they lived in Ephrata until moving to Moses Lake in 1970. Charlotte worked as a bookkeeper for Al’s wholesale business Roth Distributing Company. She eventually retired and spent her days volunteering within the community, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Charlotte spent many hours volunteering for Soroptimist, Inland Blood Bank, and the Women’s Auxiliary. In 1997 she established a memorial scholarship in Al’s name for the nursing program at Big Bend Community College. Each year Charlotte enjoyed personally awarding the scholarship to the recipient. She loved music, bowling and cooking. Big family meals at the holidays were her specialty.

Those who knew Charlotte were drawn to her sweet personality and sense of humor. Charlotte was always willing to lend a helping hand and had many loyal friends. She particularly enjoyed her dinners out with a close group of ladies who called themselves “The Wild Bunch.” Charlotte was a one-of-a-kind woman and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children Diane Dawson (Tom) of East Wenatchee, Gary Weir (Virginia) of Moses Lake, stepson Coke Roth (Mary) of Tri-Cities, stepdaughter Noreen Roth of Washougal, brother Claude Hephner of Wichita, Kansas, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and sister.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Big Bend Community College Scholarship Foundation Nursing Program 7662 Chanute St. Moses Lake, WA 98837.
