MOSES LAKE — An overloaded circuit caused a fire at a Moses Lake home Wednesday.

Grant County Fire District No. 5 responded to the fire in the 7800 block of Stanley Drive Northeast about 1:15 p.m. with six fire vehicles. The fire was found in a bedroom at the house and stemmed from an overloaded circuit, according to GCFD No. 5 Chief Dan Smith.

Once firefighters at the scene were able to pinpoint the fire’s location it only took a couple of minutes to put out. The over loaded outlet reportedly caught on fire and burned a wall, with firefighters forced to tear out the wall. The damage to the house was mainly structural, with the fire contained to the bedroom and the rest of the house receiving smoke-related damages.

There were no reported injuries and the house was not occupied when crews arrived.
