Thanks to the community for supporting medical mission

| June 9, 2016 1:00 PM

The Moses Lake Medical Team would like to thank the community of Moses lake for their great show of support when Mr. K.J. Wright, who plays for the Seattle Seahawks, came to our city on April 30 to greet fans and sign autographs. The money raised at this event will fund our next medical mission. A group of team members will travel at their own expense to Kebbi State, Nigeria in October of this year for a two-week mission. The patients who will receive medical, surgical, dental and vision care free of charge are individuals who have no way of paying for these services out of pocket and no access to government-funded healthcare. We will spend the money raised in April to purchase medications and medical supplies for those underserved people. We were delighted to see approximately 800 Seahawks fans turn out for this event. Several individuals and businesses in our community helped make our event a success, including six members of the Moses Lake Police Department who volunteered their time to provide security. We hope that all of the participants enjoyed meeting K.J. Wright while making a contribution to aq worthy cause. We could not do the work that we do without such generous support from the wonderful people of the Columbia Basin.
