Motorcycle rider injured in collision near Quincy

QUINCY — A Ephrata man was injured after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck near Quincy on Monday.

About 2:05 p.m. David Lerma, 53, of Quincy, was stopped on Adams Road at state Route 28 in a 2010 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and made a right turn in front of a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Kenny Walker, 54, of Ephrata, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Walker was heading west on SR-28 and struck the left rear portion of Lerma’s truck and was ejected from his motorcycle. Walker and his motorcycle came to a rest in the road.

Walker was injured in the accident and transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center as a precaution. His motorcycle sustained reportable damage and was towed from the scene. Lerma’s truck was not damaged. Lerma was cited for failure to yield the right away, according to the patrol.
