Wildfire near Crescent Bar contained on Tuesday

CRESCENT BAR — A wildfire near Crescent Bar was contained before any structures were destroyed on Tuesday.

The call for the fire, which was located above Crescent Bar and northwest of Bishop Flatts Road, came across about 11:30 a.m., according to Grant County Fire District No. 3 Chief Don Fortier.

Due to the size and location of the fire GCFD No. 3 called for mutual aid Chelan and Douglas counties. Grant County Fire District’s 7, 10, 11, 13, and crews from the Ephrata Fire Department responded. As of press time on Tuesday Fortier said the fire had been contained, with firefighters still knocking down hot spots and other locations where the fire was still burning.

There was a few structures threatened by the fire, but Fortier said no structures were destroyed and there were no reported injuries. Fortier said it is believed the fire started somewhere along the shores of the Columbia River, but the cause is still under investigation. The number of acres burned wasn’t available Tuesday.
