Walleye fishing on Potholes Reservoir is really picking up. The larger fish have been showing up at the power lines in Crab Creek and the front of the dunes, they are both producing using slow death and double whammys.

Some big trout have been showing up in same areas. Trout fishers are using diving plugs such as flicker shad and rapalas.

The crappie and perch fishing has been good to fair off dock for early morning anglers. Trout magnets and crappie jigs in white and yellow are the baits being used. Some perch are also being caught in front of the Potholes State Park, using same bait.

The bass fishing has been great this spring and will only get better as the water warms. The dam and rock piles off Goose Island is great for smallmouth and the dunes have been good for largemouth. Senkos, jigs and spinner baits are the ticket for these fish.
