MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend over the weekend after she told him she wanted to break up with him.

About 8:45 p.m. on Saturday the Moses Lake Police Department received a report of a 20-year-old woman who was “bloody” and running south on Road L Northeast. The woman was picked up by a passerby before police arrived at the scene, according to police records.

The woman told police she was beaten up by Eliazar J. Ramos, 37, of Moses Lake, because she was trying to break up with him. The victim stated she got out of the vehicle she was in with Ramos and started running on foot.

Ramos allegedly punched the woman numerous times in the face and head. He reportedly choked the woman, “to the point of where she couldn’t breathe,” according to police records. The woman was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment, where hospital staff found she had a broken nose.

Ramos allegedly fled the scene of the assault in a blue Ford pickup truck. To report information about this case contact the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-764-3887.
