2 arrested after gang confrontation at Spring Festival parade

MOSES LAKE — An argument between rival gang members resulted in two men being arrested in Moses Lake over the weekend after a stolen gun was found in a vehicle they were in.

About 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, during the Moses Lake Spring Festival’s Grand Moonlight Parade, rival gang members allegedly got into a verbal confrontation near Frontier Middle School, 517 W. Third Ave. Angel Baeza, 22, of Moses Lake, and Daniel Alcala, 21, of Quincy, reportedly began talking about producing a firearm during the verbal confrontation, according to police records.

Baeza and Alcala reportedly left the area when the rival gang member they were arguing with contacted 911. The two suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle and were stopped in the area by police. Upon searching the vehicle the suspects were stopped in, police reportedly found a .25 caliber pistol, which was previously reported as stolen.

Baeza and Alcala were booked into the Grant County Jail. Baeza was cited for criminal mischief. Alcala, who is a convicted felon, was cited for criminal mischief, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm. The victim in the incident was reportedly cited with criminal mischief, according to police records.
