Higgins stands out among candidates

| July 28, 2016 1:00 PM

There are nine hopeful candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction on your ballot. One stands out of the group, and that is Ron Higgins. Mr. Higgins has an amazing resume. He worked as an engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy, has Washington and California teaching certificates with mathematics endorsements, taught in seven public school districts and more than 30 schools in our state, as well as teaching in both public and charter schools in inner-city Los Angeles, and worked as a bus driver. He has taught nearly every subject from preschool through high school, including bilingual and special education. He served as a Marine Corps helicopter pilot in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and has two master’s degrees, one in chemical engineering from the University of Washington.

As education is of utmost importance to all voters, he’s the conservative that will stretch your tax dollars and get the job done.

It is time to have a leader that understands the teacher’s role, as he has current experience in today’s classroom.

Mr. Higgins has a vast amount of experience and knowledge, so please join me in voting for excellence in education by voting for Ron Higgins for Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
