July 25

Report of a stolen 2016 LTZ Chevrolet Tahoe. Vehicle was recovered before it was reported.

Report of a stolen Jet Ski. The Jet Ski was located floating on the lake.

Report of a hair-pulling fight between two elderly patients at a care home. No crime was determined to have been committed and there were no injuries.

Report of a vehicle which was stolen last week. The vehicle had previously been recovered and been impounded when the owner could not be reached.

Report of drug paraphernalia found in a room vacated by a squatter.

Report of a hit-and-run in the area of East Fifth Avenue and South Chestnut Street. The reporting party was riding her bike across the street in the marked crosswalk when a vehicle, described as a dark gray four-door passenger car, struck the bike’s rear tire, forcing it to spin around. The cyclist was spun off the bike and scratched and bruised her right shin when she landed. The driver, described as a female with dark hair, left the scene and was not located.

Report of a theft at a business at 500 S. Pioneer Way. A female suspect exited the store and triggered the alarm. When employees attempted to follow her, she took off running and officers were unable to find her.

A man reported that somebody had taken his debit card from his wallet, withdrawn money on it, then replaced the card in the wallet.

A business in the 100 block of Third Avenue reported receiving fraudulent phone calls purporting to be from the Washington State Business Board.

A female reported being assaulted by her boyfriend at a business at 705 S. Pioneer Way. Upon contact the officer determined that both parties were intoxicated and both claimed that the altercation had only been verbal.

A woman at a business at 1005 Stratford Rd. reportedly switched price tags on merchandise before scanning it at the self-service checkout. She was arrested and booked for burglary.

A male reported that his sister and his girlfriend had been in an altercation earlier in the day. The girlfriend told officers the sister had assaulted her, but she did not want to press charges.

A woman reported seeing a subject throw a rock through the back window of a vehicle. The subject fled the scene.

A man reported that he had gotten into a verbal argument with his mother over living arrangements. The man was arrested on an existing warrant and booked into Grant County Jail.


Ephrata Police Department

July 25

A man reported that a subject struck him with a pipe and took his wallet. The victim was transported to Columbia Basin Hospital.

An abandoned vehicle was reported on G Street Northeast. The vehicle appeared to have been parked there for an extended period of time and the tags had been expired for several months. The vehicle was tagged for 24-hour removal.

A bicycle was reported stolen from its owner’s back porch.

A man reported that his neighbor had assaulted and threatened his son in May.

A man reported that his ex had not picked the kids up from visitation.

A man reported an ongoing problem with his neighbor irrigating his property.

A rape was reported to have taken place during the July 4 weekend.

A woman reported that her renters stole several items when they moved out.

A man reported that a suspicious gold Pontiac Sunfire was parked in front of his daughter’s apartment, with the ignition punched out and wires hanging everywhere.

Subjects were reported racing around a park on a four-wheeler.

A woman reported that her garage had been tagged with gang graffiti.

A man reported that his daughter threatened to kill herself and him.

A woman reported seeing people with headlamps outside a house whose occupants had moved out a month earlier.
