Woman injured in collision near Othello

OTHELLO — A Puyallup woman was seriously injured when she reportedly ran into a farm tractor with her motorcycle on SR 26 about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Julie Rice, 52, was driving east on SR 26 about six miles east of Othello when she came up behind a tractor turning left onto Booker Road, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. Rice moved into the westbound lane to pass and ran into the tractor turning left, the press release.

The driver of the tractor, a 17-year-old male from Grand Junction, Colo., was not injured. Rice was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. She was wearing a helmet, the press release said.
