Love

Thank you Pastors Skip and Gale for your article in the Herald last Friday. You chose a topic that is not only very deep but also at the very core of the Christian walk. Scriptures teach there are different types of love. Love is all inclusive but it is also evasive. Some of these loves are inherently human but the one we need to seek is agape love. Agape love comes through the power of the Holy Spirit. This love is all inclusive, that is He loves all of mankind but in order for us to individually receive His agape love we must submit to His will. An easier way to understand this is, we trade our human will and personal desires for God’s will and His desires for us. When we submit our will to God’s will we receive the indwelling Holy Spirit and along with it, God’s love to empower us to love unconditionally. This love empowers us to love the unlovable and to forgive the unforgivable.

The indwelling Holy Spirit gives us the discernment to know what and when to give so we do not get in His way and impede the growth of another.
