Desert Aire Senior Center Sagebrush tournament and auction set for August 5

DESERT AIRE — The Sagebrush Senior Center, which relies on memberships and donations for its survival, has scheduled its principal fundraiser for Aug. 5.

The Sagebrush Senior Center Golf Tournament and Auction will be held at the Desert Aire Golf Course and Clubhouse. The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The teams will be selected by computer.

The entry fees, which cover lunch, will be $30 for SBSC members and $35 for non-members. There will be a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Extra lunches will cost $10 each.

There will be a silent and a live auction at the luncheon after play. Prizes will be awarded to tournament winners at that time. Sign-up forms are available at the Pro Shop and the Senior Center.

The SBSC is a 501(c)3 corporation and is 100 percent self-funded. It does not receive state or federal assistance or grants.

Some of the auction items donated so far are:

  • Seafood dinner for 16.
  • Wine and chocolate gift basket.
  • Seahawk golf bag and accessories.
  • Seahawk gift basket.
  • Basket with $500-plus in gift cards.
