Frank Eugene Thomas, 70, passed away on Sunday, July 10, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Wash. after an extended illness.

Frank was born March 19, 1946 in Puyallup, Wash. to Morry and Kathy Thomas. He served four years in the Coast Guard in Astoria, Ore. and then transferred to the Coast Guard Reserves. During that time he married his first wife and had four beautiful children, three sons and a daughter. Twenty-nine years after graduating from Marysville High School in 1964, he married the girl he dated in high school, Mary (Peterson) Thomas whom he was married to for twenty-two years. Frank and Mary relocated to Moses Lake after his retirement and continued to enjoy fishing and hunting. His best memories were walleye fishing and duck hunting with his boys, brother-in-law Ken Hamilton and his wife. Frank and Mary enjoyed retirement and for numerous years were able to snow bird to Needles, Calif. where they enjoyed fishing and meeting many great new friends.

Frank retired from Fish and Wildlife as a Game Warden in 1997 from Ellensburg, Wash. He proudly served from September 1971 to July 1997. He called it a job but it was really a hobby that he got paid for. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed nothing better than spending time outdoors with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad and will be greatly missed by his wife Mary (Peterson) Thomas of 22 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Art) Taylor of Mississippi and three sons Ken (Amy Cook) Thomas of Covington, Wash., Mike (Karen) Thomas of Puyallup, Wash. and Tim (Kelly) Thomas of Camano Island, Wash.

He leaves four stepdaughters and a stepson. Kim (Mark) Troyer of Liberty Lake, Wash., Karen (Mike) Thomas of Puyallup, Wash., Kelly (Tim) Thomas of Camano Island, Wash., Bobby (Sarah) Larson of Everett, Wash. and Renee Knopf of North Dakota.

Frank is also survived by two sisters and one brother. Faye (Ken) Hamilton of Wapato, Wash., Patty Thomas of Ellensburg, Wash. andd Jerry (Pauline) of Sun City West, Ariz.

He is survived by 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A family Memorial Service will be held. He loved his family and was not just a husband, father, grandfather or brother but was a best friend. Keep fishing in heaven.

Frank you will be missed. You have left us all with great memories and a love for fishing and hunting. Thank you for being a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. You will be missed but we will carry on your memory.
