July 12

Report of shots fired in the 700 block of South Dahlia Drive. Police checked the area but did not locate any evidence of shots being fired.

Report of homeless people fighting in the area of East Penn Street and North Block Street. The report was determined to be unfounded.

A employee at the Safeway gas station reported finding a substance, believed to be heroin, in front of the store. The employee said she thought a woman had dropped the substance accidentally. The substance was entered into police property to be destroyed.

A woman reported her $1,800 bicycle was stolen from outside of her camper in the 500 block of West Third Avenue.

A woman reported an unknown suspect used her debit card to set up an Amazon Prime account. The victim will be working to provide police her bank information.

Report of a package containing clothing stolen from a front porch in the 800 block of North Evelyn Drive.

Police served a search warrant at a residence in the 7800 block of Rainier Road Northeast and recovered a stolen drum set. The suspect in the case was not present at the residence and will be charged with first-degree possession of stolen property and first-degree trafficking stolen property.

Report of a woman pushing a cart of unpurchased merchandise out of Big Lots and later returning the items for an in-store gift card. The woman returned to the store later and attempted to do the same thing, but the store was able to cancel the gift cards prior to the suspect using them. Big Lots staff will be sending police video surveillance of the incident in an attempt to identify the suspect.

A man reported being approached by an unknown subject in the 2000 block of West Broadway Avenue who told him there was a “hit” out for him. The man did not know the suspect’s race, build, clothes or what he looked like.

A patient reported that her caregiver might have stolen her purse.

A woman reported that somebody ran into her fence and knocked down a couple of pieces.

Four dogs were reported abandoned.

A man reported a car going through an alley at approximately 50 mph.

A woman reported that somebody broke into her house, broke a window and stole an onion and some alcohol.

July 13

A woman reported two subjects in an apple orchard putting paper down around her van and looking like they were going to light it on fire.

A stolen vehicle was reportedly spotted by its owner on the road.
