PROJECT: A Shoreline Substantial Development Permit to enable the installation of a new seismograph instrument for the Wanapum Dam.

Notice is hereby given that a JARPA (Shoreline Substantial Development) application

was received by Grant County on June 28th, 2016 from Public Utility District of Grant County

No. 2 (Grant PUD), (Contact: Igor Shaporda, PO Box 878, Ephrata, WA 98823); and was found

to be Technically Complete on July 06, 2016. PROJECT: A Shoreline Substantial Development

Permit to enable the installation of a new seismograph instrument for the Wanapum Dam. The

instrument will require overhead electric power and communication lines ran via utility poles to

the location. Excavation/fill will not exceed 10 cubic yards. ADDITIONAL PERMITS: None

SHORELINE DESIGNATION: High Intensity – Public Facility. SEPA: Grant County PUD

issued a DNS on 05/31/16 for this proposal; no additional SEPA Review is required.

CONSISTENCY STATEMENT: This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with Grant

County Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code. LOCATION: The

project area is located just Northeast of the Wanapum, West of SR 243, and is located 3.25 miles

North of Beverly, Washington. The site is located in the Northwest quarter of Section 16,

Township 16 North, Range 23 East, W.M., Grant County, WA. Parcel #15-0253- 000 ZONING:

Rural Remote. Copies of the application materials (JARPA #P 16-0232) are available from

Robert Eckroth, Assistant Planner, at the Grant County Planning Department at 264 West

Division Ave, P.O. Box 37, Ephrata WA 98823, (509) 754-2011 extension 2538; office hours are

8am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm, Monday – Friday. Comments must be submitted no later than 5pm

August 12, 2016 to the Planning Department. All comments should be as specific as possible

and may be mailed or hand delivered. All persons, agencies or tribes have the right to comment,

receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision, and appeal the

decision as provided by law and County Code.
